General Secretariat of the Government of the Federation of BiH

Scope:
General Secretariat of the Government carries out the expert work for the needs of the Government of the Federation BiH, the Government’s working bodies, the Prime Minister’s Office, both Deputy Prime Ministers and the members of the Government, related to:

• organizing the preparation of materials for the sessions of the Government and coordination meetings and meetings of other Government's working bodies;
• preparation of materials ordered by the Government and monitoring of implementation thereof;
• preparation and monitoring of implementation of the resolutions and other documents related to staff policy issues covered by the Government's scope (appointments, discharges and other tasks covered by the Government's scope);
• coordination of proposals, enactment and supervision of implementation of the Government’s Work Program for its mandate period and of the Government’s annual operational work plans;
• ensuring preparation of reports and analyses related to implementation of the activities related to execution of the Government’s Work Program and Conclusions;
• ensuring the coordination of issues related to the European integrations and civil service reform, and preparation of appropriate reports for the Government;
• preparation and monitoring of implementation of the Government’s Conclusions;
• direct interpretation and ensuring translation of written materials to/from foreign languages;
• proof-reading of the texts of laws, regulations and general enactments, analyses, reports and other materials enacted, i.e. discussed by the Government or submitted by the Government to the Parliament of the Federation BiH, i.e. to the President and Vice-Presidents of the Federation BiH for their consideration;
• ensuring the documentation materials and information of importance for the Government, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Ministers and Members of the Government;
• proposals to draft and introduce IT projects involving several bodies and coordination thereof;
• IT support in applying joint IT projects;
• analyzing, standardizing and upgrading information and services provided by the Federal authority organs through web;
• implementation of the strategic partnership contract with Microsoft and preparation of future contractual relations;
• representation of the Federal authority organs in the IT sector at the state level;
• drafting the standards and recommendations in the IT area;
• promotion and introduction of open code based software;
• IT support (preparation of small-scale IT projects, procurement of IT equipment etc.) for the Government and the Government’s Offices;
• preparation of video-presentations and provision of presentation technical support;
• preparation, implementation and monitoring of implementation of the project “Government without Papers”, and other tasks in area of IT of common interest for the Federal authority organs, carrying out administrative-technical and expert-operational tasks unless those are organized in another way;
• and other tasks determined by the Government.       

Tasks and duties falling under scope of the General Secretariat of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are carried out within basic and interior organizational units and by the independent carriers.
The Office of the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the General Secretariat of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a separate office comprising a basic organizational unit: Sector for Coordination of Policies, Institutional Cooperation and General Affairs.
