Curriculum Vitae

Born on July 16, 1962 in Jablanica, Municipality Jablanica. High School for Technical-Mechanical Engineering and the undergraduate study at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering completed in Mostar, acquiring the title of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. He was employed with the company “SOKO” Mostar, and after the war he has become Professor at the High School of Electrical Engineering in Mostar .Member of the Patriotic League and of the Army of Republic BiH from 1992 to 1995. In the Municipality Mostar – North from 1997 to 2000 he held the office of the Head of the Service for Corporate and Social Activities, and since July 2000 until February 2003, the office of Mayor of the Municipality Mostar -–North. In the period from February 2003 until 2006 he was Federal Minister in the Government of the Federation BiH – Ministry for Issues of  Displaced Persons and Refugees.In the General Elections of 2006, as leader on the list of the Democratic Action Party (SDA) at its electoral unit (2) he won a mandate in the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina.Affiliated to the Democratic Action Party (SDA) since 1990 and member of its organs, from local committees to the Party's Presidency after the IV Congress. Bosniak, married and father of two. He enjoys spending his leisure time staying in nature, hunting and bee-keeping.

Scope of Activity

Administrative, professional and other tasks as laid down by the legislation related to the competencies of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the areas of displaced persons, refugees and returnees, and particularly: gathering and processing data on refugees and displaced persons, coordination of reconstruction activities, together with registration and supervision of the NGOs; creation of conditions for return of displaced persons in their pre-war domiciles, including construction and reconstruction; recovery and repair of homes and other housing units for accommodation of the refugees and displaced persons, running of regional centers for assistance to those activities, as well as other tasks as laid down by the legislation governing this field.
