Curriculum Vitae

Born on January 5, 1949 in Šipovo. General Grammar School completed in Bosanska Gradiška, and Faculty for Physical and Health Education in Sarajevo. Between 1973 and 1992 he used to work as professor of physical and health education employed with the High School for Metal-Related Professions and Medical High School in Zenica. For his merits in pedagogic, cultural and sport activities during his long service he has received numerous acknowledgements. Between 1992 and 1995 he was member of the III Corps of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina,. Officer of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina with rank of Major. Due to serious injuries he suffered in 1993, he has a 100% disability, II group, with amputation. Since 1995 he used to hold the office of the County Secretary for Veteran-Disability Issues and Social Welfare and Refugees. In 1996 he was appointed Minister without Portfolio in the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton. During next two terms he held the office of the Cantonal Minister for Veterans Issues. Since 2000 until 2003 he was President of the Disabled War Veterans Federation of BiH. Prior to his appointment to the position of the Federal Minister, he had been engaged as the Representative in the House of the Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation BiH (Member of Legislative-Legal Commission, Vice-President of the Committee for Veteran-Disability Issues and Member of the Mandate-Immunity Commission). In March 2007 he was reappointed the Federal Minister. Married, father of two children.

Scope of Activity

The Ministry executes the administrative, professional and other tasks related to: setting out of a uniform policy and preparing of system regulations setting out the fundamental welfare-status issues of disabled veterans, families of the killed soldiers and unemployed veterans and veterans of other liberation wars and members of the liberation movements and welfare of war and peace time military disabled persons; welfare of the families of the killed, missed and deceased as well as of war and peace time deceased disabled veterans; administrative and financial supervision of implementation of the regulations in the area of the veterans’- disability protection according to the Constitution and laws; provides its positios in regard of regulations drafted by other bodies related to social status rights of those categories; ensures financial funds aimed for funding the welfare rights regulated by Federal laws and other Federal regulations; establishes manner for payment and adjusting of monthly allowances;  construction, arrangement and maintenance of the memorial cemeteries of the killed soldiers and innocent war victims; controls purposed expenditure of funds, carries out administrative-financial supervision of the Foundation for Assistance in Housing Issues of the Veterans Population; establishes cooperation with cantonal bodies, municipal services, other administration bodies, federations and associations of veterans population and keeping the mandatory records in competence of this Ministry. In cooperation with other Ministries of the FBIH Government prepares and implements the projects for employment of veterans population and launches campaigns for presentation of those projects home and abroad.
